Sunday 8th June 2014. A juniors ride/meet has been organised for Sunday.

Please meet outside the Spar shop on Y Maes in Caernarfon at 9.30am.

The planned route is to go over to Ynys Mon, via Y Felinheli, Menai Bridge, onto Gaerwen, Llangaffo, Llanfaelog, Rhosneigr, Llannerch-y-medd, Brynteg, Pentraeth, Llandegfan, and down to Menai Bridge and back into Caernarfon. Approx 63 miles.

The Queens Batten Relay0

The Queens Batten Relay is passing thro’ Gwynedd today. From 3.00 pm the batten will be traveling from Arfon Leisure Centre in Caernarfon via Bethal Road, Pontrug, thro’ Llanrug and to finish at the Lakeside Railway in Llanberis around 4.00 pm.
Five of the youngsters from the Club have been invited to be torch bearers, and a part of this prestigious event. If you are off work or school today, and have the time to be on the route, please give Anni, Cadii, Carwyn, Huw and Owain your support and a welcome cheer……..

Sunday 25th May 2014. A juniors/members (all are welcome) ride has been organised around “The Ffestiniog 360” for Sunday.

Please meet at the Blaenau Ffestiniog Post Office for 8.15am.

The plan (for those who are interested) is to complete the route together as if on a normal Sunday ride, but be part of something bigger, “The 360”.  For full event details, please go to www.ffestiniog360.com  Approx 63 miles.

Sunday 18th May 2014. A juniors/members (all are welcome) ride has been organised for Sunday.

Please meet in the car park at the end of the cycle path in Llanwnda for 9.30am.

The plan is to head up over Drws y Coed, down to Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant and on to Capel Curig. From Capel down to Bethesda, Tregarth and up to the surge pond at Marchlyn. Back down and thro Deiniolen to Cwm y Glo, over Ceunant and back to Llanwnda. Approx 55 miles.

Club Thangs, May 20140

Well, the race scene (both nationally and locally) has begun in earnest for Club members. The Mon Arfon League series of time trials began in April, with wins for Garry Ellis (Holyhead CC “10”) and Gareth McGuinness ( Clwb Rasio Mona “10”), with Alun Williams, Dylan Griffiths, Wayne Owen and Mathew Nottingham taking top ten places. Gwydion Roberts leads the Juniors, whilst Jack Williams leads the Youth’s competition. In the Inter Club Competition, Energy Cycles Club is dominating once again. Energy Cycles 10 mile MA League TT Result – 08.05.140

Yet another tough evening was in store for those who rode this evenings sporting course (Aberdesach/Llanaelhaearn/Aberdesach). Despite the sun making a welcome appearance, the breezy conditions weren’t going to give fast times, though all the riders (a record number for this course) rose to the challenge. Energy Cycles man of the moment, Gareth McGuiness proving his class by more than a minute from fellow Club mate and new member Dylan Griffiths in second place, and Clwb Rasio Mona’s Gerallt Roberts third. Fastest Veteran was Holyhead Cycling Club’s Aled Williams, Fastest Junior was Energy Cycles Gwydion Roberts, and Jack Williams of Energy Cycles the quickest Youth Rider.

A well deserved pat on the back goes to both Gwynfor Williams and Huw Owen who rode their first time trials this eveni...

Mon Arfon League 10 mile Time Trial, 8.5.140

Thursday 8th May.
The first Energy Cycles Club time trial of the year is on Thursday.

The event is being held on Aberdesach to Llanaelhaearn and back to Aberdesach course (D20/1).

The distance is 10 miles, and is a part of the Mon Arfon League Series. This series of events is open to all Club riders, and is a great way of experiencing short distance time trialing.

Car parking, meeting, and signing-on will be in the Aberdesach Beach Car Park, off the A499, Llanwnda to Pwllheli road. Please keep an eye out for direction signs.

Signing on will be from 6.15pm, with the first rider away at 7.00pm.

Please come along, and see what those hours and miles of training have achieved for you.

Please meet outside the Spar shop on Y Maes in Caernarfon at 9.30am.

The plan is to head over to Betws y Coed via The Pass and onto Llanwrst. From here climb up to the Roman road (B5113) and towards Colwyn Bay. Drop down to the Black Cat Island and head to Conwy. Back to Caernarfon via Bwlch Sychnant, Tal-y Bont, and Pentir.  Approx 75 miles.
